Well I bit the bullet yesterday and bought a new set of tires. I didn't end up with the Nitto Trail Grappler but instead I bought the tried and true GoodYear Wrangler in a 275 70 r18 which gives me a true 33 inch diameter as measured on the truck. They run quieter and smoother and were about 30-40 bucks cheaper per tire. I'm ready to get out and put them through some testing this weekend.
I'm really glad we have a local adventure to Angelina National Forest coming up. I'm looking forward to spending some time away. I haven't made any upgrades to Lexy in a while so I'm hoping she's up to the task. I may see if I can upgrade the tires before this weekends trip. I'm looking at the new Nitto Trail Grappler Mud Terrain tires. Anybody have any experience with these tires?
Are there any excursions planned for this fall and winter? Haven't seen much discussion about anything coming up except some expos. I'm trying to get to the one in Llano next month.
I've been dealing with a bad transmission in my GX 460 but finally got it repaired and I think it's going to stay that way. No more codes for stuck or malfunctioning solenoids in the valve body. While it was in the shop they also replaced the fluid pump, torque convertor, complete valve body and many internal parts in the main part of the tranny. Finally ready for a road (off-road trip).
