Well my list kept growing and I started saving up for the things I couldn't build myself. The first modification was a 2-3 inch lift and I settled on an Ironman Foam Cell Pro Stage 2 kit with KDSS. I waited, but not patiently, for their big sale event and was able to save some big money on this kit. I have a very good mechanic near me that took on the task of installation and did a great job for a very reasonable fee. I then headed down to National Tire and Battery to have an alignment done and a set of Nitto Grappler tires size 275 70 r18 mounted on my stock rims. I had some small clearance issues which I remedied by removing some plastic fender liner material and a heat gun. Now I had a daily drivable and capable vehicle off road as well. These two modifications were the most expensive part of the entire build and I saved a bundle by getting tires and lift kit on sale. I then turned my attention to things I could do myself and number one was to clearance the vehicle as much as possible to gain as much ground clearance as possible. I located a set of stock rock rails from a Toyota Forerunner and scooped them up for $75.00. I was pleasantly surprised that they were a direct bolt on item to replace the stock Lexus running boards. I had to do some creative trimming to accomplish an almost stock appearance. I also did some trimming to the bottom of the front bumper cover which is just plastic and is easy to cut with a saber saw or cutting wheel. After doing this $75 mod, I had gained several inches of clearance and improved my approach angle as well. Here are a few pics of these projects.
