Howdy Squatchers!

I will be headed up to Barnwell Mountain Recreation Area located just outside of Gilmer, Texas this Sunday with my son and a fellow off-road Maverick.
If you've been wanting to get out of the house, would love to get away from visiting in-laws, need to get away from the everyday grind, or if you've had Barnwell on your list for a while, but you haven't had a spotter available... this is your chance!

I'd wager that the most fun you could have at this park is with a high clearance 4x4 vehicle, so I'd reccomend 33"s or bigger.

We will leave from Nacogdoches around 8:00am and we plan to start wheeling around 11:00am.
We are planning on getting some food in Gilmer just before we go in, and we'll be packing light snacks for on the trail. I am planning on staying out there until about 3:00pm or 4:00pm, however, the park closes at 6:00pm on Sundays.

Once we arrive at the park we're going to air down and do a quick rundown of everyone's rigs to make sure that everything stays on! 😁

I've been trying to get to Doc's Hotlinks for a decade. Maybe one day. How was it at the park? Do you have any pics/videos?

I never made it to Doc's and in fact, we decided to stay at a wonderful little AirBnB and leave in the morning. We did not, however, enjoy the entire tirp to the max... Strep Throat was a bugger this year!

I have some pictures and videos I took on the GoPro, I'll have to get them transfered over!

Barnwell is an amazing park with loads of different kinds of obstacles to test out on. My confidence driving up steep grades with this Maverick is at an all time high after making my way up and all the way down (twice ) Sketchy Hill (A.K.A. Scary Hill A.K.A. Entry to Solihul trail). And we were able to provide spotting and assistance to the folks we met out there! We ended up with one more than listed in the post and he had a Chevy Colorado zr2! Pretty much every person I talked with about this park told me that it can be an unforgiving park and that's where you break stuff, and while I do not doubt that one bit having seen the nastier parts of the park, I DIDN'T BREAK ANYTHING!!! (that was on my list of goals for the trip)

I was able to make a video with some of the footage I got on the Pixel, and here it is: Introductions BMRA

I really tried to focus on the folks we met out there... and @JaxDiego
Can't wait to get back there and do some more sketchy driving!
